Lasterday . ..

I love this age with kids . .. they come up with the best words . . .

Emma's newest word is Lasterday . . .
"Mommy, you rememeber Lasterday when you said we could go to the park?"
A mix of Yesterday and Last night . . . I LOVE IT!!!!!

Washington DC on a date . . .

Well, last night, Joshua and I were able to go out on a date. It was awesome! We have some awesome friends here (Daniel and Sara) and Sara offered to watch our beautiful little girls Saturday night.

We had so much fun. We drove into the heart of DC and parked next to the Jefferson Memorial. We walked there and then to the Lincoln Memorial by way of the FDR Memorial. I can not express to you how amazing this all was. Joshua and I both love history so much and to be surrounded by so much was UN-believable.

So we got to the Jefferson Memorial right before sunset. I was just in awe at what we saw. I am sitting here trying to figure out a way to type our adventure so you can feel the way we did, but I don't think I can.

The monuments are HUGE. Jefferson himself stood about 3 times as tall as Joshua. When you turn around to follow the gaze of Jefferson, you look onto the Washington Monument. Anyways, here are some of the pictures . . .

This was the view looking out of the Memorial . . .

You can't see from this picture but the White house is right about where Joshua's neck is . . .

OK, so from there, we walked to the Lincoln Memorial. I think that is what I was looking forward to the most. It was gorgeous! It was hard to get pictures because it was pretty much dark when we got there, but I was able to get a few.

This is what Lincoln looks at every night . . . The Washington Monument reflecting off of the water . . .

Then . . . we saw the White House. It was dark so it was lit up beautifully . . .

Well, I am sleepy . . . there is so much more I can say, but maybe another time!
